Day 1: Launceston to Bicheno
Leaving Launceston we stop at St Columbus Falls, with its ancient rainforest back drop is our first stop today. Continuing through the changing landscape of heritage farms, rainforest and mining towns we spend the afternoon at the breathtaking Bay of Fires. Here you can take a stroll along the gleaming white sands or a swim in the clear turquoise water (weather permitting). Tonight we stay at in the seaside township of Bicheno. After dinner, you can choose to take a tour to see little penguins nesting (at own expense).

This morning we drive into the stunning Freycinet National Park for sweeping views over Wineglass Bay. Take a spine chilling Port Arthur Ghost Tour for a glimpse into the historic past of this penal colony (at own expense).

We travel north along the historic Midland Highway, passing numerous colonial inns and quaint villages including Bagdad, Oatlands and Campbelltown.
