“Standing in Echidna Chasm, a "Beehive" Rock Formation of Bungle Bungles, Purnululu NP, Australia. The Bungle Bungle Range in the Purnululu National Park is nowadays one of the best known tourist attractions of Western Australia. Until the mid-80s only Aborigines and a handfull of European descendant' knew of the place. Today, it's all completely different. The beehive-shaped rocks with the black and orange stripes are very famous. Other things, not to be missed, are Echidna's Chasm and a broad range of wildlife. ”

Wed: Kununurra to Bungle Bungles

Depart Kununurra and drive via the scenic Ragged Range onto Turkey Creek, where we have a short stop. We head to the Bungle Bungles turn off for a 53km drive on a very scenic, winding dirt road via the magnificent Osmand Range. We arrive in time for lunch at the Northern Gorges.

Afternoon walk in Echidna Chasm and Mini Palms (time permitting) before arriving at our overnight camp on sunset.

Thu: Bungle Bungles to Kununurra 

This morning we head to the southern end for a walk through the Bee Hive area of Piccaninny Creek and Cathedral Gorge. An optional helicopter flight is available today which gives us the advantage to view these magnificent formations close up from the air before returning to Kununurra in the early evening.

A Bower Bird's "Bower" (pictured) near Mini Palms Gorge, Bungle Bungles (Purnululu National Park), the male spends a long time constructing these structures to entice a female. However, they are solely for courtship and are not nests; the female constructs a nest for raising chicks after mating takes place.
