Day 1: Darwin & Victoria River

Journey to the magnificent Katherine Gorge and enjoy a reinvigorating swim beneath the cascading waters of Edith Falls. Arrive into Darwin, Australia's laidback northern gateway. A tropical mix of culture, character and natural beauty, Darwin is the perfect end to an awe-inspiring tour of Western Australia and the Top End.

Day 2: Kununurra

Discover outback Australia's diversity in vibrant Kununurra and cruise along the vast expanse of Lake Argyle - which holds 12 times more water than Sydney Harbour. Cross the border into the Northern Territory and enjoy some local hospitality from the 300-strong community of Timber Creek.

Days 3-4: Purnululu National Park (Bungle Bungle Ranges)

Take a 4x4 through Turkey Creek into the remote Bungle Bungle Ranges. Inspect unique black and orange striped domes, visit impressive Cathedral Gorge and Echidna Chasm. Why not splurge on a scenic flight to view this spectacular region from a different perspective?

Day 5: El Questro

Explore the unspoilt frontier country of El Questro Wilderness Reserve, which spans a million acres of jaw-dropping gorges and sprawling plateaus. Relax in the restorative thermal waters of Zebedee Springs and crack a cold beer at the Outback bar.

Days 6-7: Gibb River Road

Journey through the sunbaked terrain and craggy gorges of Western Australia, spotting plenty of furry natives along the way. Enjoy a refreshing watering hole dip before bedding down for the night at an authentic bush camp.

Day 8: Windjana Gorge

Visit the infamous Boab Prison Tree and traverse the rugged Gibb River Road. Explore the region's oldest cave system, taking a dark and fascinating underground tour of Tunnel Creek. Travel into the wilderness of the Kimberelys to Windjana Gorge, where cliffs tower above white sands and freshwater crocodiles laze idly around in the sun.

Days 9-12: Broome

Delve into the pearling history of Cable Beach, where dramatic cliffs meet pristine tropical waters. Witness a stunning amber sunset over the Indian Ocean, choose from a plethora of water based Broome activities or simply relax al fresco style at an outdoor cafe.

Day 13: Indee Station

Hop on the Heritage Trail, hit Cable Beach or check out the latest flick at the world's oldest outdoor cinema. When it comes to things to do in Broome, the choices are endless.

Days 14-16: Karajini National Park

Step into the pages of history at Broome's Japanese cemetery. Then hit the road and head to Eighty Mile Beach, soaking up spectacular coastline vistas on the way. Arrive in time to watch the sun disappear over the west coast horizon.

Day 17: Exmouth

Travel through the sun-kissed scenery of the Australian outback on the way to Exmouth.

Days 18-19: Coral Bay

Visit cape range national Park and the picturesque Turquoise Bay before heading for a swim, snorkel or scuba dive in Coral Bay, an ocean sanctuary for whale sharks, dugongs, manta rays and sea turtles. At Ningaloo Marine Park, Western Australia's largest coral reef, strap on a snorkel to see over 200 species of coral. There's plenty to do here in free time.

Day 20: Monkey Mia

Enjoy a close encounter with dolphins at Monkey Mia. Every day a number of dolphins swim into the clear shallows of the bay to interact with humans. At night, embark on a cultural tour of Gathaagudu (Shark Bay) with our Indigenous hosts.

Day 21: Kalbarri

After time spent exploring the rugged Kalbarri National Park, relax by a campfire at an outback ranch next to the Murchison River.

Day 22: Perth

Tour around the famous Pinnacles in Nambung National Park and roam around the peculiar moon-like desert, complete with ancient towering rock domes. Arrive into Perth where there are options for every taste! Perhaps catch a game of Australian Rules Football, hit the shops or take a tour across to Rottnest Island.

Additional Information

Accommodation: Camping consists of portable, easy to erect, pyramid style tents with sewn in ground sheets and full standing room inside. Two people share each tent. Comfortable foam sleeping mats are also provided. You will also be provided with a travel pillow and towel to use and to keep for your future travels. Please bring a sleeping bag or hire one. While camping you will be expected to erect your tent and pack it away. When not camping the standard accommodation is multishare.

Participatory Camping: To participate in this trip you must be prepared to assist with preparing meals, cleaning dishes, collecting firewood, setting up and packing up camp every day, in all conditions.

Meals: On most days, breakfast, lunch and dinner will be included. Your leader will prepare most of the meals whilst on tour but you will have the opportunity to assist with daily activities such as setting up camp, helping prepare meals and clearing dishes. None of this is difficult however many hands make light work and any assistance provided to crew is always much appreciated. Most people agree that this type of activity helps you feel like less of a tourist and more of an explorer. Vegetarians and those with any special meal requirements may need to provide additional assistance to the leader for meal preparation.

Transport: You will be travelling in a vehicle specifically designed and built for Australian outback conditions. All our vehicles are air conditioned for your comfort, have CD players and/or Ipod connections and large panoramic windows for uninterrupted sightseeing.
